A dog, a steak, and a pile of money
The result is never in doubt, which is precisely why it is funny.

A dog called Charlotte is offered a choice between a stack of money and a steak, and anybody who has ever met a dog can call the outcome. The joke lies in watching it happen anyway. The volume runs high, the cutting is brisk, and effects land without warning alongside bright colour, so noise-sensitive children will struggle with it. Dog-mad eights and nines will adore it. Our review does steer dreamers elsewhere, since there is nothing here to sit inside and imagine (the dog being far too busy for that).
At a glance
Will it actually calm them down?
Scores measure how reliably this video moves a child toward a settled, regulated state. In the Piko app, kids tell us their weather and we do the matching automatically.
Which kids will love it?
Why it works
Animals make a comparison funny that would be flat between two people. A child already knows what a dog values, so they get to feel clever about predicting the result, then get the pleasure of being right about it. Short, and it resolves properly. The limitation is that once the joke lands there is nothing else underneath, and the delivery is a good deal noisier than such a gentle premise actually requires.
When to reach for it
- Dog in the house Best with a child who will immediately test the theory on their own pet.
- Cheering somebody up A near-guaranteed laugh for anyone who finds animals funnier than people.
- Reach for the volume Effects land hard, which this calm little premise really does not need.

Questions parents ask
Is the dog treated kindly?
Nothing concerning was flagged. She is offered a choice and takes it, and no distress appears anywhere in our review of the clip.
Will my child try this with our dog?
Almost certainly, though presumably with a biscuit rather than a fortune. Harmless enough, and a good deal cheaper.
Why is it noisier than the idea needs?
House style applies even to gentle ideas here. Loud music, bright colour and sudden effects were all recorded in this one.
