MrBeast vs Preston for Kids

Parents arrive at this comparison expecting the answer we give for most MrBeast alternatives: same sort of content, gentler delivery. Preston does not work that way. We put 978 MrBeast uploads and 801 Preston uploads through identical review, and Preston came out busier on every measure we hold. Its median shot lasts 1.8 seconds against MrBeast's 2.2. Its high sensory band holds 640 videos of the 801 we scored, roughly four in five, where MrBeast's holds 585 of 978, closer to three in five. And MrBeast has 102 uploads sitting in our low sensory band. Preston has none.

The overlap in subject matter is real, which is why the swap gets suggested at all. Both channels build long episodes out of dares, contests and games of hide and seek, and the words a child uses to ask for one work just as well for the other. One Preston video our matching turned up is a congratulations video aimed at MrBeast himself. A child moving between the two is not changing subject, only presenter.

The pass rates run against the pace figures, and that only sounds contradictory until you look at what we turn videos away for. 337 Preston uploads were approved out of 801 scored, a little over four in ten. MrBeast manages 314 out of 978, under a third.

MrBeast's turn-downs cluster hard. 221 were built around a product. 178 fell for relentless speed at full volume. 86 offered spectacle with nothing underneath, 69 stayed noisy start to finish, and 42 put a stunt on screen that a child might copy. That is not a handful of stray uploads, it is the shape a large slice of the channel takes.

We have not broken Preston's 464 turn-downs down the same way, so we are not going to guess at what drove them. What the two rates do show is that approval and pace answer different questions. Our review weighs a good deal more than speed, which is how a channel can cut faster and still clear the bar more often.

The gap between approved and published is wide on the Preston side. All 314 approved MrBeast videos have a page on Piko. Only 20 Preston pages are live so far out of 337 that cleared review, so most of what passed is queued rather than rejected.

Four MrBeast videos have a Preston counterpart covering the same ground, already reviewed, and cut at roughly half the speed. Every one of the Preston matches holds a shot for about 3.5 seconds. The rest of what we have measured sits in the full MrBeast hub.

• The grocery store survival stunt. $10,000 Every Day You Survive In A Grocery Store runs twenty-one minutes at a shot every 1.5 seconds. I Made a Fake TV to Cheat in Hide and Seek keeps the challenge and the trickery inside eight and a half minutes, holding each shot more than twice as long.
• The Bermuda Triangle dare. Surviving 24 Hours Straight In The Bermuda Triangle changes shot every 1.5 seconds across just under twelve minutes. CHEATING With COLORS in Hide and Seek! carries the same hide-and-seek thread at close to eleven minutes and a 3.5 second cut.
• The firework escalation. $1 vs $100,000 Firework! spends eleven minutes building a spectacle, changing shot every 2.2 seconds. I Surprised MrBeast for 100,000,000 Subscribers! lands on exactly the same running time with shots held for 3.5 seconds, and points at MrBeast rather than trying to outdo him.
• The giant group gameshow. 100 People Vs World's Biggest Trap! stretches to half an hour, changing shot every 1.5 seconds. EXTREME 100 Buttons YouTuber Gameshow Challenge! keeps the contest shape in nineteen minutes, cut at 3.5.

Hold on to one detail from that list: all four Preston matches sit at 3.5 seconds a shot while the channel's median is 1.8. That is not luck, it is what review does. The videos reaching a Piko page are the slower, quieter tail of a catalogue whose middle runs faster than MrBeast's. Choosing by channel name and choosing by video land a child in two very different places here.

The band split is the clearest way to see it. MrBeast: 585 high, 102 low, 291 somewhere between. Preston: 640 high, 161 in the middle, nothing low. A channel with an empty low band has no calm corner to fall back on, so the steadier watches have to be picked one at a time rather than trusted by default. Minecraft is the through line. Four of the five Preston pages listed below carry Minecraft in the title, and all five sit in our 8 to 9 age band, so this is not a swap that reaches down to a younger child. Length varies far more than the premises do. The published set runs from that nine minutes up to a forty-five minute obsidian escape, which is an evening rather than a filler watch (worth knowing before you agree to one more).
