A child who likes one tends to ask for the other by description rather than by name, because the format is close enough to swap. Where the two part company is pace. Across the 978 MrBeast uploads we reviewed, shots run at a median of 2.2 seconds. Across 492 Ryan Trahan uploads, that median stretches to 3.5 seconds, more than a second and a half slower cut for cut.

The same gap shows up in sensory load. 585 of the full 978 came back high on our sensory read, against 102 rated low. For Ryan Trahan the split reverses hard: 91 rated high against 67 rated low, out of 492 scored. Neither number describes every video on either channel, but each describes where its centre of gravity sits.

Of the 978 MrBeast uploads we scored, 314 made it onto Piko. • Wanted the survival stunt? I Survived 24 Hours Straight In Ice cuts fast for about eleven and a half minutes. I Survived On $0.01 For 30 Days, Day 11 keeps the survival challenge but runs slower, shots averaging 5.5 seconds over about sixteen minutes.

None of this makes Ryan Trahan the correct answer and MrBeast the wrong one, it is a description of what each channel asks of a child in a given minute. On MrBeast, 585 of 978 scored uploads sit in our high sensory band, 102 sit low, and the remaining 291 fall somewhere between the two. On Ryan Trahan, 91 of 492 sit high, 67 sit low, and the other 334 sit in between. A channel weighted toward the high band asks more of a child's attention and nervous system per minute than one weighted toward the low band, whatever the challenge on screen happens to be.

A MrBeast video with a slower measured pace can sit closer to Trahan's centre of gravity than to the rest of its own catalogue, and the reverse holds too. Sixteen Ryan Trahan videos are live on Piko so far, mostly sat in our 8 to 9 age band with one running in the 10 to 11 band.
